BHU UG Admission 2025 Overview

Banaras Hindu University (BHU) is a prestigious and internationally reputed institution located in the sacred city of Varanasi. Founded in 1916 by nationalist leader Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya with the support of visionaries like Dr. Annie Besant, BHU is known as the “University of India.”

Spread across a sprawling 1300-acre campus, BHU is Asia’s largest residential university, housing over 30,000 students. It comprises 6 Institutes, 14 Faculties, and 144 Departments, offering a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Ranked 5th in the latest NIRF rankings, it remains a top destination for students across India.

Previously, BHU admissions were based on Class 12 merit or separate entrance tests. However, since 2022, UG admissions have been conducted exclusively through CUET (Common University Entrance Test). This shift has streamlined the admission process, ensuring transparency and uniformity.
