The National Testing Agency (NTA) has introduced significant revisions to the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for the 2025 academic session. 1. Section I: Language Test

   • Number of Questions: 50 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) per subject.
   • Duration: 60 minutes per language.
   • Syllabus: Assesses Reading Comprehension based on different types of passages–Factual, Literary and Narrative, (Literary Aptitude and Vocabulary).
2. Section II: Domain-Specific Subjects
   • Subjects Available: 23 subjects, including Accountancy, Biology, Business Studies, Chemistry, Computer Science, Economics, Geography, History, Home Science, Mathematics, Physical Education, Physics, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Agriculture, Mass Media, Anthropology, Fine Arts, Environmental Science, Information Practices, Statistics, and Sanskrit.
   • Number of Questions: 50 MCQs per subject.
   • Duration: 60 minutes per subject.
   • Syllabus: Based on the NCERT Class 12 syllabus.
3. Section III: General Aptitude Test
   • Number of Questions: 50 MCQs.
   • Duration: 60 minutes.
   • Syllabus: Covers general knowledge, current affairs, general mental ability, numerical ability, quantitative reasoning, logical and analytical reasoning.

Marking Scheme

• Correct Answer: +5 marks.
• Incorrect Answer: -1 mark (negative marking applies).
• Unanswered Questions: No marks awarded or deducted.

Mode of Examination

• CUET 2025 will be conducted exclusively in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) format.

Key Changes Introduced

• Reduction in Subjects: The total number of subjects has been reduced from 63 to 37, streamlining the options available to candidates.
• Subject Selection Flexibility: Candidates can now select up to five subjects, a reduction from the previous limit of six. Importantly, students are permitted to choose subjects irrespective of their Class 12 curriculum, offering greater flexibility in aligning with their interests and career aspirations.
• Uniform Exam Duration: All subject papers now have a standardized duration of 60 minutes, promoting consistency across the examination process.
