• Dr. Arun Kumar Sharma, a well-respected archaeologist in India, passed away at his home in Raipur at the age of 90.  He was known for his contributions to Indian archaeology, especially his leading role in the excavation of the Ayodhya site.

• Iran's venture into space exploration and satellite deployment continues with the launch of the "Pars 1" satellite, facilitated by Russia from the Vostochny Cosmodrome.

• In February 2024, the Zoological Survey of India (ZSI) discovered a new variety of sea slug mollusk off the coasts of Odisha and Bengal. It is named after the President Droupadi Murmu. This species mainly lives in marine habitats.

• Former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, widely regarded as one of the country's most popular leaders in recent memory, passed away on Thursday at 84.
