• World Mosquito Day is observed annually on August 20 to commemorate the discovery made by Sir Ronald Ross in 1897 that the malaria parasite is transmitted to humans by Anopheles mosquitoes. Mosquito-borne diseases kill more than one million people and infect 700 million people each year.
  1897 में सर रोनाल्ड रॉस द्वारा की गई खोज की याद में हर साल 20 अगस्त को विश्व मच्छर दिवस मनाया जाता है कि मलेरिया परजीवी एनोफिलिस मच्छरों द्वारा मनुष्यों में फैलता है। मच्छर जनित बीमारियाँ हर साल दस लाख से अधिक लोगों की जान ले लेती हैं और 700 मिलियन लोगों को संक्रमित करती हैं।

• India and Trinidad and Tobago have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the use of INDIA STACK technology. INDIA STACK is a digital platform that provides a unified framework for identity, data, and payment services. The MoU will help to improve the delivery of government services in Trinidad and Tobago.

• P.R. Seshadri has been appointed as the new managing director and chief executive officer (MD and CEO) of South Indian Bank. Seshadri is a former executive director of State Bank of India.
