• Indian energy giant Indian Oil has taken on the title sponsorship of the edition of MotoGP Bharat, the first-ever grand prix in India, which will be held at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida from September 22 to 24.

• Renowned writer-filmmaker Gita Mehta passed away. She was 80 years old. Mehta had written books including Karma Cola, Snakes and Ladders, A River Sutra, Raj and Eternal Ganesha.
  प्रसिद्ध लेखिका-फिल्म निर्माता गीता मेहता का निधन हो गया। वह 80 साल की थीं. मेहता ने कर्मा कोला, स्नेक्स एंड लैडर्स, ए रिवर सूत्र, राज एंड इटरनल गणेशा जैसी किताबें लिखी थीं। 

• Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria introduced the 'Sarpanch Samvad' mobile application with the aim of transforming the methods through which Sarpanchs, the leaders of villages communicate.

Trudeau cited Canadian intelligence findings that suggest a "credible" link between Nijjar's death and the Indian state.

The five individuals, who are also Iranian citizens, have departed Tehran for Qatar's capital and are now on their way to Washington, D.C.
