• Maharashtra leads the Fiscal Health Report due to effective fiscal practices. Chhattisgarh's unexpected second place highlights the importance of prudent financial management.

• Raj Chetty, an Indian-American economist, and Michael Springer, a biologist, have been awarded Harvard University's George Ledlie Prize for their groundbreaking work in their respective fields.

• Padma Shri awardee and former President of Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), Prof. M.R. Satyanarayana Rao passed away.
  पद्म श्री पुरस्कार विजेता और जवाहरलाल नेहरू सेंटर फॉर एडवांस्ड साइंटिफिक रिसर्च (जेएनसीएएसआर) के पूर्व अध्यक्ष, प्रो. एम.आर. सत्यनारायण राव का निधन हो गया।

• Former India captain and legendary footballer Mohammed Habib passed away. He represented India in many international tournaments from 1965-76.
  भारत के पूर्व कप्तान और महान फुटबॉलर मोहम्मद हबीब का निधन हो गया। उन्होंने 1965-76 तक कई अंतरराष्ट्रीय टूर्नामेंटों में भारत का प्रतिनिधित्व किया।

• The Dutch economy has entered a recession, shrinking 0.3% on a quarterly basis in the second quarter. This is the first recession since the pandemic, and follows a 0.4% contraction.
