• President Droupadi Murmu has granted assent to the Digital Personal Data Protection Bill, 2023 (DPDP Bill). The bill is aimed at protecting the personal data of citizens and provides for a framework for the collection, processing, and use of personal data.
  राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मू ने डिजिटल पर्सनल डेटा प्रोटेक्शन बिल, 2023 (डीपीडीपी बिल) को मंजूरी दे दी है। विधेयक का उद्देश्य नागरिकों के व्यक्तिगत डेटा की सुरक्षा करना है और व्यक्तिगत डेटा के संग्रह, प्रसंस्करण और उपयोग के लिए एक रूपरेखा प्रदान करता है।

• Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurates three connectivity projects costing Rs 360 cr to boost coastal security in Gujarat. The projects include the construction of a new coastal police station in Porbandar, a coastal security radar station in Dwarka, and a coastal security outpost in Jamnagar.
  गृह मंत्री अमित शाह ने गुजरात में तटीय सुरक्षा को बढ़ावा देने के लिए 360 करोड़ रुपये की लागत वाली तीन कनेक्टिविटी परियोजनाओं का उद्घाटन किया। परियोजनाओं में पोरबंदर में एक नए तटीय पुलिस स्टेशन, द्वारका में एक तटीय सुरक्षा रडार स्टेशन और जामनगर में एक तटीय सुरक्षा चौकी का निर्माण शामिल है।

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi lays foundation of Sant Ravidas temple at Badtuma, Madhya Pradesh. The temple is being built at a cost of Rs 500 crore and is expected to be completed in three years.

• The Navies of India and the UAE carried out a military exercise as part of efforts to boost maritime security cooperation. The exercise, named "Indra-Navy 2023", was held off the coast of Goa from August 8 to 12.

• India men's hockey team jumps to third spot in FIH rankings. The team's recent performances, including a gold medal at the FIH Pro League Finals, have helped it to move up two places in the rankings.
  भारत की पुरुष हॉकी टीम FIH रैंकिंग में तीसरे स्थान पर पहुंच गई है। एफआईएच प्रो लीग फाइनल में स्वर्ण पदक सहित टीम के हालिया प्रदर्शन ने उसे रैंकिंग में दो स्थान ऊपर चढ़ने में मदद की है।

• Australia men's and women's hockey teams seal Olympic Games 2024 qualification. The teams both won their respective matches against Japan in the Asian Champions Trophy final and third-place playoff to secure their places at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
  ऑस्ट्रेलिया की पुरुष और महिला हॉकी टीमों ने ओलंपिक गेम्स 2024 के लिए क्वालिफिकेशन पक्का कर लिया है। दोनों टीमों ने एशियाई चैंपियंस ट्रॉफी फाइनल और तीसरे स्थान के प्लेऑफ़ में जापान के खिलाफ अपने-अपने मैच जीतकर पेरिस में 2024 ओलंपिक में अपना स्थान सुरक्षित कर लिया।

• Armenia calls for help from UN on Nagorno-Karabakh region. Armenia has asked the United Nations Security Council to help resolve the conflict in the Nagorno-Karabakh region. The region is disputed between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and fighting broke out in 2020.

• World Bank approves $1.5 billion loan for Sri Lanka. The World Bank has approved a $1.5 billion loan to Sri Lanka to help the country address its economic crisis. The crisis has been caused by a combination of factors, including the COVID-19 pandemic, the war in Ukraine, and rising fuel prices.
