• Sri Lanka's prime minister resigns. Ranil Wickremesinghe has resigned as prime minister of Sri Lanka, after days of protests calling for his removal. Wickremesinghe's resignation comes after President Gotabaya Rajapaksa fled the country and resigned as well.

श्रीलंका के प्रधानमंत्री का इस्तीफा. उन्हें हटाने की मांग को लेकर कई दिनों से चल रहे विरोध प्रदर्शनों के बाद रानिल विक्रमसिंघे ने श्रीलंका के प्रधान मंत्री पद से इस्तीफा दे दिया है। विक्रमसिंघे का इस्तीफा राष्ट्रपति गोटबाया राजपक्षे के देश छोड़कर भाग जाने और उनके भी इस्तीफा देने के बाद आया है।

• UK heatwave: Temperatures reach record highs. The UK has recorded its hottest day on record, with temperatures reaching 40.3 degrees Celsius (104.5 degrees Fahrenheit) in Coningsby, Lincolnshire. The heatwave has caused widespread disruption, with train services cancelled and schools closed.
