• INS Vikrant commissioned: India's first indigenous aircraft
  carrier, INS Vikrant, was commissioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi today.
  The carrier is a symbol of India's growing military prowess and its ability to
  build complex warships indigenously.
• Amit Shah lays foundation stone of 'Balidan Stambh': Union
  Home Minister Amit Shah laid the foundation stone of the 'Balidan Stambh'
  (Martyrdom Pillar) in Srinagar today. The pillar is being built in memory of
  the Kashmiri Pandits who were killed in the Kashmir Valley in the 1990s.
• Journalist A.K. Bhattacharya authored new book: Journalist
  A.K. Bhattacharya has authored a new book titled “India's Finance Ministers”.
  The book tells the story of the country's finance ministers from independence
  to the present day.
• Sri Lanka declares state of emergency: Sri Lanka has
  declared a state of emergency after days of violent protests over the country's
  economic crisis. The government has imposed a curfew and deployed the military
  to quell the unrest.
• TCS secures $1.9 billion deal to digitally transform the
  UK's National Employment Savings Trust (NEST). The 10-year contract aims to
